Allotments for Grade Ruan Parish – a work in progress.

The Parish Council is making progress in its efforts to provide a new allotment site to serve the Grade Ruan parish area.

Calls for allotments were raised in the recent Parish Plan consultation and since then the Parish Council conducted a survey to establish the level of support and to get an idea of how many people would actually want to take up an allotment. The survey responses were positive and gave a clear mandate to the council to go ahead.

Local landowners have been contacted, potential suitable locations have been found and from the shortlist of sites we are now at the stage where we can seek an agreement on the preferred site. More on this when we are at the stage where an announcement can be made.

Now that it is likely that we will be able to provide allotments, we are starting to compile an Allotments Waiting List. If you want to take up allotment, now is the ideal time to send in your application to get your name on the list.   Plots will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, with priority given to residents of the area covered by Grade Ruan Parish Council.

How to get your name on the Allotments Waiting List:

Send an email to:  clerk@grade-ruan-pc.gov.uk    This will get through to Parish Clerk, Louise Clifton.

Here are the details you need to give in order to join the allotment waiting list:

Date of Application

Your name

Your Address

Your postcode

Your contact tel. no.

Your email address

Also, feel free to send in any supporting information, such as whether you would be able to help with work to get the allotment site up and running, whether you would want a larger or a smaller plot, or anything else that will help us to ensure that the allotments will be meeting the needs of the local community.
